Project Description

The project entailed undertaking detailed feasibility studies (technical, commercial, land availability) on the viability of using private sector initiatives and PPP to operationalize 3 publicly funded livestock feedlots in Baringo, Meru and Wajir Counties in Kenya. The study also evaluated the use of PPPs to replicate and operate feedlots in the Arid and Semi-Arid regions in Kenya.

  • Detailed feasibility studies including- technical, land requirements, legal, commercial and economic assessments.
  • Review and advisory on the consolidation of the livestock value chain
  • Development of a menu of governance models available to Government of Kenya for the operationalization of existing and new feedlots.
  • Stakeholder engagement and project market sounding.
