Johnson is a trained project finance and Public Private Partnership (PPP) professional with practical experience in the financial structuring, monitoring and implementation of large infrastructure projects in the Eastern Africa region. He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the World Association of PPP Units and Professionals (WAPPP) based in Geneva.

He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lean Africa Consultants Limited, a project finance and PPP advisory firm incorporated in Kenya that is currently in a teaming partnership agreement with PPP Solutions Limited, a project finance and PPP advisory firm based in London. The common goal of the two firms is to sculpt innovative financing solutions for infrastructure projects in Africa.

Johnson is also the Founder of the Miundo Misingi Hub, a Centre for Excellence in infrastructure financing and development based in Nairobi, Kenya that seeks to catalyze the collaboration between the public and private sectors with a goal of developing sustainable infrastructure project solutions for the East African region.

Johnson is the also the Founder and a member of the Training Faculty of the Africa Project Finance Program, a three months action-based training program that aims to build a pool of project finance and PPP experts for Africa. He has been involved in the development of the curriculum for the Program that keenly focuses on real infrastructure challenges and solutions in Africa.

He is also the Founder of the East Africa Infrastructure Project Finance Conference, an annual forum that brings together stakeholders involved in the financing and development of infrastructure to discuss how Africa can better structure and package infrastructure projects so as to attract more investment into the continent.

Before founding Lean Africa Consultants Limited and the Miundo Misingi Hub, Johnson worked for the Economic and Commercial office of the Kingdom of Spain, Isolux Ingenieria S.A, Civicon Group, East Africa Breweries Limited among others. He was involved in the planning and financial management of infrastructure projects in the energy transmission & distribution, road & bridges, real estate and power substation sectors in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Gambia and Senegal.

At Lean Africa Consultants, Johnson is the Lead Project Finance and PPP Consultant involved in the provision of advisory services to both private and public sector clients including advisory on identification and structuring of projects, evaluation of infrastructure investment opportunities, financial structuring and modelling of projects, preparation of project memorandums, negotiation and management of financing facilities, capacity building and training among others.

Johnson has also been involved in a number of initiatives including engagement with government ministries aimed at demystifying project finance and PPPs. He believes that we can accelerate economic development in the African continent if we can simplify and make it possible for local entities to be involved in driving sustainable infrastructure PPP projects.

Johnson holds a First-Class Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from Strathmore University in Kenya, a Post Graduate Certificate in Project Finance with a specialization in PPP from Middlesex University in London, an APMG PPP Certificate and Accountancy Certification by the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Body (KASNEB). He has also undertaken various trainings in the planning and management of large infrastructure projects, project finance and Public Private Partnerships.

Johnson has also been recognized by the ImPPPact Global Alliance and appointed as one of its Ambassadors for Kenya to champion the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through Public-Private Partnerships.
