Mtanya Matuja
Mtanya is a development finance and energy specialist with over 14 years of experience structuring sustainable infrastructure and climate-aligned investments across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Before joining Miundo Misingi, Mtanya served as a Project Management Specialist, Energy at USAID/Tanzania, where he led U.S. energy flagship programs under Power Africa and helped launch the U.S.–India–Tanzania Triangular Development Partnership (TriDeP). He also coordinated interagency engagement on the Electrify Africa Act, earning him the Individual Meritorious Honor Award from the U.S. Mission in Tanzania.
He previously worked with Agence Française de Développement (AFD), where he supported the development and financing of climate-aligned infrastructure across Tanzania — including energy access, green urban development under the Team Europe Initiative, and sustainable transport systems such as the Dar es Salaam BRT expansion.
Mtanya holds an MBA in International Business Finance from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance Management from the University of Mysore, India.
